Here, shows a Burrell Steam Tractor at Powis Castle, Welshpool owned by Shrewsbury based Jabez Barker Timber Merchants circa 1920’s/30’s who bought Mellington Hall in the 1950’s when it was semi derelict, purposefully for the trees on the land and to knock down Mellington Hall which was their next job following this fabulous photo.

Thankfully Jack Evans of Bishop’s Castle bought each individual tree back whilst purchasing the Hall itself at the same time to save it also from demolition. Fascinating
